We are looking for a Video Production Company with adequate experience to undertake an assignment of producing 3 SPGS’ training videos.

1. Project Background

The Sawlog Production Grant Scheme (SPGS) is a project funded by the European Union and Norwegian government, with support from the government of Uganda. The project operates under the Ministry of Water and environment (MWE). SPGS supports (financially and technically) private sector investors to develop Uganda’s commercial forest industry in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner.

The overall objective of SPGS Phase II is to support rural incomes through commercial tree planting by the private sector in Uganda.

In the long term, the purpose of SPGS Phase II is to bridge the supply gap of wood products in Uganda by increasing the production of high quality products by the private sector.

One of the key results of SPGS project is raising awareness and improving skills. This result area comprises training and communication, which are hugely important for supporting investors in the forestry sector. Through training and communication, SPGS aims at raising the level of technical skills to establish and maintain good plantations and also increase the awareness of commercial forestry as a sound investment.

2. Assignment overview and overall objective

In attempt to realise the key result area of raising awareness and improving skills, SPGS will produce three (3) technical training videos in English language. The 3 training videos will independently cover forestry operations including; Pruning, Thinning and Weed control.

These training videos each shall have a maximum length of 20 minutes and will be filmed in the field. These videos will be used by SPGS clients, plantation managers and contractors to ensure that those forestry operations are carried to recommended standards.

SPGS project is therefore looking for a video production company with adequate experience to undertake an assignment of producing 3 SPGS’ training videos.

3. Key Duties and responsibilities

The video production company will be responsible for; directing, video filming, editing, narrative audio integration, subtitling, and any other services required to complete the videos as per the requirements of SPGS Technical team.

4. Deliverables

The video production company shall provide the followings:

a) 2 master copies of each of the three fully completed training videos covering; Pruning, Thinning and Weed control operations.

b) 10 copies of each of the three training videos.

5. Experience required

The company should have adequate experience in production of training videos.

6. Duration of the assignment

Complete production of each training video will take a period of fourteen (14) working days.

7. Reporting

The company shall be reporting to the Project Manager but working closely with the Technical team of SPGS.

8. Remuneration and payment terms

The amount for producing each of the videos should be quoted in Uganda shillings only. 40% will be paid upon submission of acceptable drafts of the videos. 60% final payment will be paid upon submission of the final outputs, incorporating suggestions and recommendations from the SPGS technical team.
